This second version (interface only) was launched in September 2001 at The Vacluse in Richmond, with patrons Mrs Terry Bracks and Justice Nahum Mushin present, along with special guest Kieran Perkins. The IDSS web site will be used to support its consultants through the professional development program, course registrations, skills specialisation areas. They are knowledge brokers, consulting firm and training provider specialising in international social and economic development.
The IDSS web site avails users to a range of job opportunities, booking of development courses, automatic receipt of course notes and consultant registration facilities. Registered consultants have access to a private information sharing forum where they can post on bulletin boards, download forms and resources, and apply for "closed" positions.
The administration consists of a permissions-based management system. Appropriately authorised IDSS staff may develop new content, eg. news and development courses; manage course booking, eg. accept payment, allocate places; manage all types of users, staff, consultants, course participants;
IDSS is a subsidiary of Community Aid Abroad Oxfam Australia.
